Shed The Light of Tender Mercy

David Nix

Thursday, 7/31/2008

The ministry of our church prays together every Tuesday morning at 6:30 AM. On July 1, 2008, after our prayers, the Lord Jesus gave our beloved Wayne Alexander another beautiful song. I share these words of love and wisdom, and look forward to hearing Wayne sing this.

Shed the Light of Tender Mercy

“As you walk in the world this day, as your footsteps take you on your journey,

Be at peace, and let the love of heaven fill your heart to guide you on your way.

Let each thought, each word, and each step be deep within the heavenly light,

As you walk this day my child, let the light shine and shed the light of tender mercy.

Chorus: Take the hand of the man that reaches for the bottle, give a hug to the woman who sits upon her porch alone, stop and speak to the little children. Let your smile speak the words of thy heart, lift up all that you meet this day, and as you walk, shed the light of tender mercy.

There are many in need of love and tender care, there are many broken and alone,

In your walk today, look to see the heart that yearns, the hand that needs.

Lift others with your love; bring them joy with your voice and your laughter,

Let the light of heaven shine forth; shine forth the heavenly light of love.

Chorus: Take the hand of the man that reaches for the bottle, give a hug to the woman who sits upon her porch alone, stop and speak to the little children. Let your smile speak the words of thy heart, lift up all that you meet this day, and as you walk, shed the light of tender mercy.

My mercy is upon you as you walk down the street, my love surrounds you,

Tender winds blow my thoughts of love upon your hair and your tender cheeks.

My hand is felt in the rain and in the sunshine, like the fragrance of the flowers,

My love is with you as you walk this day, let the light of love shine forth, shine forth.

Chorus: Take the hand of the man that reaches for the bottle, give a hug to the woman who sits upon her porch alone, stop and speak to the little children. Let your smile speak the words of thy heart, lift up all that you meet this day, and as you walk, shed the light of tender mercy.”
