Couple's Conference

By Kenneth Nix

On the evening of August 19, 2010, the first couple's conference for our church began at the beautiful Laurel Ridge Camp, Conference and Retreat Center near Laurel Springs, N.C. But more importantly, it was the first couple's conference in the history of man that was commanded by the Lord Jesus in which messages of instruction were given by the Lord Jesus!  The couples of this small remnant group realized the power and great blessing of being able to attend.

This couples conference was the first, but it will not be the last. As the light grows and more come to the knowledge and understanding of what the Mighty Ones of heaven are doing, there will be a need for more of these conferences. The marriage institution and the family structure is constantly under attack by the forces of darkness, and the strength that comes from this type of seminar will be needed. Marriages need to be strong in the church to serve as a strong foundation for those who will join us.

Marriage is an institution created and blessed by the Mighty Ones of heaven. In the messages given at this conference from them, there was a strengthening of the marriages for those present. No one has had a perfect marriage, and we all have made mistakes, and there is no marriage that cannot be improved.

In our church we have many strong marriages, but all of us at the conference knew that improvements could be made.

Jesus instructed us on improving our two greatest loves, the love for God and the love for our spouse. The messages given are being kept, for these messages will be used again in future couples conferences, for these messages of love and wisdom will not lose power over time.

The conference was extremely busy. It was a conference of much prayer and much discussion. Each couple had plenty of time together in prayer alone as well as with the group. There was also plenty of time for laughter and joy.
