The Spoken Word    (A Song from the Lord Jesus)

There is power in the spoken word, power to heal and power to touch the heart,

Words can bring light and they can bring joy and happiness unto the sad and lonely.

A simple, “I love you” can bring a smile and fill an empty heart with joy,

The spoken word can melt the heart of stone and stop the baby’s cry.

The spoken word can change the lost into the found and rescue those who perish,

The spoken word can cut deep and cause tears of sorrow to fall like the rain.

There is great power in the spoken word, let your words be the words of light,

Be loving and be kind unto all men and realize the power of the spoken word.

When a child cries in the night a mother’s spoken word can bring peace and sleep,

When a man is hurting and feels lost and alone his love’s spoken word shall soothe.

The spoken word can lift and make the heart soar as the eagle in flight,

But the spoken word can also tear down the walls of love and destroy.

The spoken word reaches the throne of light and the throne of endless love,

Come unto me, call out to me my children for I desire to hear your words.

Your spoken words can bring the power of my presence and the power of my love,

I wait, and I wait, and I watch those I love and I desire their spoken word.

Words of repentance, words of love, words of worship and words of praise,

There is power in the spoken word, speak of thy love for me my children.

Am I not affected by the spoken word, do I not cry and feel sorrow?

Let the spoken word bring my light and my love unto you dear ones.

The spoken word said, “Let there be light” and there was a mighty light upon you,

The spoken word said, “Let my people go” and they left the land of sorrow.

The spoken word said, “Forgive them my Father” and all was forgiven of you,

The spoken word said, “Rise up and come home to me” and so it shall be.

There is power, great power in the spoken word, speak thy words unto me,

I hear your prayers and I hear your praise, speak thy words unto me.

The spoken word can save the lost; the spoken word can rescue the perishing,

The spoken word can open the heart of your Savior, speak thy words unto me.
