Revelation 18:2-8  “And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.  And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities. Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double. How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow. Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judges her.”

Revelation 17:12-14  “And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast. These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.”

On April 2, 2009, a meeting of the G20 (Group of 20) was held in London to address the world wide financial crisis, defense, peace and stability.  The G20 is comprised of 19 of the world’s strongest economic countries plus the European Union.  The list is as follows:  Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, the UK, the US and the EU.  This group accounts for about 85% of the world’s global output of goods and services.  While the meeting got underway, thousands of protestors marched in opposition to the goals and purposes of the G20.  Clashes with the 5000 police officers assigned to the protest were ongoing, and about 122 were arrested.

It was immediately obvious that French President Nicolas Sarkozy and German Chancellor Angela Merkel had very different ideas as to how to address the crisis as opposed to President Obama and Prime Minister Gordon Brown of Britain.  Sarkozy is reported to have threatened before the summit to walk out if it he was not happy with aspects of the deal.  Several photos from the summit show him shaking clinched fists as he spoke.

As a result of the summit, the G20 released a statement citing goals and achievements.  The following contains parts and unrelated segments of the statement:  We face the greatest challenge to the world economy in modern times.  We believe that the only sure foundation for sustainable globalization and rising prosperity for all is an open world economy based on market principles, effective regulation, and strong global institutions. We have today therefore pledged to do whatever is necessary to:

· restore confidence, growth, and jobs;

· repair the financial system to restore lending;

· strengthen financial regulation to rebuild trust;

· fund and reform our international financial institutions to overcome this crisis and prevent future ones;

· promote global trade and investment and reject protectionism, to underpin prosperity; and

· build an inclusive, green, and sustainable recovery.

 to extend regulation and oversight to all systemically important financial institutions

By acting together to fulfill these pledges, we will bring the world economy out of recession and prevent a crisis like this from recurring in the future.”

The statement goes into much more detail and includes the tripling of monies given to the IMF (International Monetary Fund) to a total of $750 billion.  The IMF is designed to help countries that are struggling with economic issues by loaning money.  But the new roles the IMF will take on with this agreement will allow it to impose strict conditions on the money loaned that can result in IMF power over the country accepting the loan, such as mandating the cutting of deficits.  This is influence over the way the country runs its own economy.

Merkel is reported to have stated the following: "We have agreed to set up a clear financial market architecture…..We have taken an important step towards creating order in an area in the world where there was previously no order….(and), This is a victory for global cooperation”

Gordon Brown basically said the result of the meetings will result in the New World Order (coming to fruition).

As we continue to heed the words of our Savior and “watch,” we see that the rise of the Antichrist and the beast power can come from an institution we may not suspect.  But as people who follow the Lamb where ever he goes, we should recognize it when it fully manifests.  A few issues back, ETU reported on the Union for the Mediterranean which is a group of nations that could restructure and fulfill the beast power prophecy.  When we look at the G20’s solutions to the economic crisis, we see a group of powerful nations finding solutions which are complex, but fundamentally involve the transfer of wealth and the control of it.  This results in the securing of even more power.  The transfer of wealth, against the desires of those to whom it belongs, is part of fascism and socialism.  The beast power, led by the Antichrist, will become a global fascist state seeking to control all aspects of human society on a global scale, including the control of most of the world’s wealth.  Revelation 13:7 “And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.”

We can say for certain, without the American economic crisis and the weakening dollar, the need for these changes in G20 policy would not be necessary.  There have been calls from some quarters for a new monetary system, or single currency, to replace the dollar as the standard global trade currency.  This might not occur in six or eight months, but it will occur.

Joel Rosenberg’s Web log reports Barack Obama has dedicated $700,000 to Iraq to “protect the archaeological remains of the ancient city of Babylon, in preparation for building a modern city of Babylon.”  God has told us that, “The image begins to form and will stand as spoken of by our servant Daniel.”  The image that God speaks of is the statue as seen by Nebuchadnezzar in Daniel 2.  Babylon is the head of gold that will reappear on this earth in the days ahead, and apparently Barack Obama is very much interested in using our tax dollars to help the powers of darkness raise Babylon to world prominence once more.  Remember, Revelation 18:2 says, “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen.” Babylon fell the first time to the Medo-Persian Empire, and to become “fallen” again it has to rise again.  While this is ongoing, a wall is being built around the entire city of Baghdad to more effectively control the ingress to the city.  There will be fewer entry points than at present in an effort to reduce sectarian and terrorist violence in the city.
