America the Dying

Neil Gardner

Early in his presidency, Barack Obama has struck down the rule that restricts federal funds (your tax dollars) from being spent on abortions overseas.  Now your money will go to overseas groups and organizations that assist women who are seeking abortions.  The Seattle Times opinion editorial page reported it with this headline:  President Obama wisely kills abortion "global gag rule."  When I first read this headline I was caught by the word wisely.  The writer is saying that this decision that results in more death in the womb than we currently are responsible for (which is just over 1 million per year here in America alone) was  a wise decision.  But then I looked at it again from the perspective of the words “wisely kills.”  This speaks to me that abortion is wise killing. Smart killing and killing of unborn babies makes sense somehow.   President Obama is using wisdom, but it is human wisdom from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.  Use of wisdom from this tree brings death (Genesis 2:17).

We know that upon conception the human spirit is created and dwells together with spirit from the Father and Savior.  So when an abortion occurs, the human potential is disposed of.  This is murder because it is premeditated and is a killing without justification.  Praise God, for we know that this human spirit goes back to God and awaits the resurrection of life (second resurrection), as God must account for all spirit, either unborn or passed away at a great old age.  Stillborns and miscarriages will also see life again according to God’s great plan and mercy.

Our young girls are taught from an early age that they have the “right” to do what they want with their bodies, and therefore abortion is proper when desired.  The problem with this is, she is doing something not to herself, but the human growing inside of her who has no voice in the matter.  Abortion proponents seem to forget we are not permitted to do some other things with our bodies, such as attempt suicide or engage in self mutilation, for which if caught in time will often land you, by force if necessary, in a mental facility.  We also know that abortion is one of our great national sins, and unless we repeal all of the laws that permit destruction of the unborn, this nation will feel the fullness of the wrath of God.  Again we ask the question, who does abortion really serve; God who desires all to come to the knowledge of Christ, or Satan who wants the complete destruction of mankind?  Therefore, any person who works for Satan’s causes is the spirit of Antichrist and will be judged lest they truly repent.  Isaiah 5:20  Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Couple the above issues with the current monetary crisis in America, for which yet another 800 plus billion dollars is being sought by the Obama administration, and we see an America that is clearly faltering.  Much of what Obama seeks as economic “stimulus” is money that goes to social programs that arguably will not stimulate the economy, such as condoms, education and Medicaid.

Odds and Ends

The following is part of an article from the Associated Press that reports on an economic summit meeting that occurred in France in early January.  Tony Blair of Britain, Nicolas Sarkozy of France, and Angela Merkel of Germany were present.

PARIS (AP-Jan 8, 2009 by Emma Vandore) — The leaders of France and Germany appeared to put disagreements over economic policy behind them Thursday, calling on the U.S. to join global efforts to address the financial crisis. French President Nicolas Sarkozy, leading a two-day conference with former British Prime Minister Tony Blair on the future of capitalism, said the crisis has shown that no country can go it alone on economic policy.  "In the 21st century, there  is no longer a single nation who can say what we should do or what we should think," he said.  (ETU believes he was referring to the U.S.)

German Chancellor Angela Merkel said the system "cannot continue as it is" and called for better-regulated financial markets.  European leaders will meet in Berlin before the G-20 summit in London to decide a common approach as global leaders gear up for a second meeting on the global financial crisis, Sarkozy said.  Measures will be taken at the G-20 meeting in London on April 2, Sarkozy promised, saying "we cannot accept the status quo."  He called for closer cooperation on economic policy, saying: "We should discuss how each of us is managing his currency, his interest rates."

The leaders of France and Germany have differed in the past over how much government support Europe's economy needs.  Merkel deplored huge debts that governments are accumulating to spend their way out of the present crisis. But she said she recognized, for the moment, that "there is no other possibility."  Leaders should look beyond financial markets, she said, singling out the American budget deficit and China's current account surplus — or trade balance — as problems upsetting the global economy.

A Congressional Budget Office report estimates that the U.S. federal budget deficit will hit an unparalleled $1.2 trillion for the 2009 budget year — and that is before President-elect Barack Obama's sweeping stimulus package is calculated.

Merkel said the International Monetary Fund has not managed to regulate global capitalism, and she called for the creation of an economy body at the United Nations, similar to the Security Council, to judge government policy.

As America continues to die, Europe is creating a new economic system for themselves,  one that Merkel seems to call to be centered in the UN that apparently will give economic power over other nations.  Prophecy continues to unfold before our eyes.

Revelation 13:15-18  And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. And he causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, except he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that has understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is six hundred three score and six.
